To The Office of Governor_______________
I read about the Governors American Flag Initiative (GAFI) and state should participate.
GAFI is a nonpartisan display of strength, leadership and celebration of America’s oldest symbol of Truth, Justice, and Liberty for all. It invites all state governors to accept a small American Flag into their office made specifically for their state as a sign of their commitment to democracy and making a quick blurb to the local news and their social media to help loosen the grip polarization has on this country. For example.
As governor of __________, I accept this flag into my office as a symbol of bipartisan support for the American Flag and stand in solidarity with my fellow governors across the country who serve our flag and all it represents, and I encourage other governors to participate.
There is no politics in the Flag. It’s not the Republican or Democrat flag, it’s the American Flag, and it represents every American along with our Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence and Rule of Law to name a few, and it’s been doing it longer than anyone alive today. A rally around the Flag in a display of bipartisan leadership sets an example of opposing parties putting their differences aside and embracing the greater good we all have in common.
Governors are the most highly recognized elected officials in each state across the country. The Governors American Flag Initiative gives every governor the opportunity to participate in a bipartisan, nationwide campaign celebrating our flag and setting an example of leadership that embraces a more united, United States.
If fifty governors caught the spirit (or as many as we can get) and put party and politics aside out of respect for the flag, our country, and America's 250 years of existence, this could be a historic rally of bipartisan support for America’s oldest symbol of Freedom, Justice, and Liberty for all, and state name should be part of it.
